Trail Conditions

As of this weekend trail conditions for the 2016 Kearney Dog Sled Races look great!  Although this winter had a mild start with little snow we are presented with some cooler weather this weekend and a fair bit of snow fall.  On Friday Feb 5th 2016, a team of 15 snowmobiles went out and groomed and packed the Ski-joring, 4 Dog, 6 Dog and the 35 Mile trails.  These trails are now in very good condition with 3 inches of fresh snow and granular snow base.  On Saturday Feb 6th, 5 mid-distance teams are running all trails.  Yesterday’s grooming has broken up all icey patches and are now safe for the dogs and mushers.  There is more snow in this week’s forecast so we expect conditions to continue to be great.
