How to Volunteer at the Kearney Dog Sled Races

We couldn't do it without you!

The Kearney Dog Sled Race is a volunteer effort from beginning to end. This 2 day dog sled event would never have been possible without the volunteer efforts of thousands of dedicated individuals, all of whom have lent a hand ... and sometimes much more - over the past 20+ years.

Volunteers play a vital part in many aspects of this event.  We have jobs for young and old.  You can help us in many ways, from working with the committee during the off-season organizing aspects of the event or fundraising to helping outside during Race Weekend with crowd control or road crossing safety during the races. Most of the volunteer positions are outdoor, but we do have a few indoor jobs we need help with as well in the Community Centre. The Kearney Dog Sled Race welcomes volunteers from all over Ontario, Quebec and around the world. Join our incredible volunteer team.

Instructions for Volunteers

If you would like to volunteer outside during the race weekend, please remember to dress warmly as you could be outside for a period of time.

On Sunday evening during our Closing Ceremonies, we serve a banquet dinner, and it is FREE to our volunteers as an appreciation for your time and assistance.

Volunteer Registration

Please select all areas you are interested in. Note that the majority of the help needed on race weekend will require you to be outdoors in various inclement weather. Wear WARM gear, bring extra socks and mitts, and charge all personal electronic devices before arrival.
