Greg Alexanian Memorial 2 Dog Race Routes

2 Dog Pro and Junior Dog Dash

2 DOG SLED

Open and RNB Pro, and Sportsman

*New Maps Pending!*

The 2 Dog Sled class was created by formed race committee member Greg Alexanian. Greg had a huge passion to helping new mushers get involved in the sport. This race class is specifically designed to ensure anyone with 2 dogs can participate no matter the skill level.

As of 2027, the course will start on the regular starting line and head out down Park Road, turning left onto Patton Road. Mushers will then turn into a wooded section of the trails that twists and turns through the highlands. After the wooded section, mushers enter into what we affectionately call "the pit". Instead of winding back and forth in the open area, 2 Dog mushers will cut straight across the fields. There will be a final turn up and over a hill before ending on at the finish line. This eliminates head-on passing for our pro mushers.

2 Dog Junior Dog Dash

*New Maps Pending*

Our 2 Dog Junior Dog Dash is an extension of the 2 dog pro category. This is newly introduced as of 2027.

The course takes off backwards down our finish line for a short 100 meters. This section involved passing finishing teams head on, however, there is a significant berm between lanes with burlap fencing. After this short section the trail turns out onto a 2.5 mile course that features rolling Almaguin Highland hills. There are several straight-away sections to pick up speed and take in the views. We have a host of volunteers in sight throughout the course. This ensures young and novice mushers are comfortable and safe.

This video by Taylor perfectly showcases the course in all its beauty!
