Children face painting at the Kearney Dog Sled Races will be provided by Jessica Kaercher age 19. Born and raised in Muskoka, Kearney Emsdale specifically. Jessica loved drawing at a young age, inspired by her mother Terri Kaercher McKay. Jessica was involved in art through Huntsville Highschool and Fleming College.  She volunteered for the first time face painting at the Kearney dog sled races last year 2014 after face painting at the Kearney regatta in the summer of 2013.   “I’ve always loved getting my face painted as a child, and love painting others faces as an adult!”, Jessica says about children face painting.

Hello Justin Myles After reviewing your interview, application, and other documentation you have provided so far, we are pleased to be sending you this Letter of Interest and would like you to consider moving forward with the process of authorizing Blue Sky Recruiting to act as your employment agency. Subject to your successful completion of the rest of the recruiting process (which usually takes 3 to 7 calendar days), we are prepared to immediately represent you for the following positions to remote camp employers throughout Alberta that we have an agreement or formal legal contract with (subsequently called employer, employers, or employer’s throughout this e-mail): 2nd Cook The above job title(s) represent all of the positions that we are prepared to represent you to employers for at this time. Each job title(s) is a separate position. Depending on your recruiter’s assessment of your documentation and interview, these may not necessarily be the same positions for which you have applied and some positions listed may not even be advertised. You must be willing to perform the duties of any of the above positions at the employer’s request. This Letter of Interest is offered to you on an as-is basis. If you are not interested in Blue Sky Recruiting acting as your employment agency, are willing to only be represented for only some and not all of the positions listed, would like to indicate your preference to work in only some positions listed or additional positions not listed, would like to qualify your acceptance of this Letter of Interest in any way, would like to attach any condition or request to your acceptance of this Letter of Interest, or would like to request further information or enter into a general discussion about this Letter of Interest, please consider your recruitment process as cancelled and do not reply to this e-mail or complete any more steps. The terms and procedures in this Letter of Interest are non-negotiable. Although this Letter of Interest represents an opportunity for remote camp employment, it is not an actual offer of employment and we are not yet authorizing you to arrive at any employer’s office for any reason or to make any travel plans or other commitments. Only when you have completed the rest of the recruiting process in a manner that meets our expectations, will we contact any employer on your behalf. If you accept this Letter of Interest, we will do a secondary review to ensure that communication you have had with our company meets our requirements for representation. If it does not, we will inform you that we will not be proceeding. FAILURE TO MEET EMPLOYER REQUIREMENTS Blue Sky Recruiting will not refer a job seeker to another of our remote camp partners or affiliates if that job seeker fails to successfully complete a pre-employment test or application, Drug & Alcohol test, Fitness-to-Work test, or any other test or application where the final result is that one of our remote camp partners or affiliates will not accept that job seeker as a direct result. Your continued communication with us, including completing any applications or supplying any documentation that would normally be associated with a pre-screening and/or recruitment process, implies your acceptance of these terms. SOCIAL INSURANCE NUMBERS (SIN) STARTING WITH 9 – VERY IMPORTANT If your Social Insurance Number (SIN) starts with any other number except 9, please disregard this paragraph entirely. If your Social Insurance Number (SIN) does start with the number 9, you will need to attach a scanned copy of your work permit before continuing with any of the instructions listed below. We will then verify your work permit with Immigration Canada to determine if you can legally work for remote camp employers in Alberta for a minimum of 12-months from the date you completed your most recent STEP 1A or STEP 1B application. If your Social Insurance Number (SIN) does start with the number 9 and you instead confirm this Letter of Interest without first supplying us with a copy of your work permit, this Letter of Interest will voided immediately without exception and any subsequent offers we may have sent you will be rescinded as a direct result. It is a serious criminal offence for employers to mistakenly hire someone whose Social Insurance Number starts with the number 9 if they do not have proper documentation to prove that they can legally work for them. As such, we take necessary precautions to protect employers by ensuring our recruits can legally work for employers that we contact on their behalf. We regret that we cannot assist anyone who is not currently legal to work for remote camp employers in Alberta with obtaining any form of employment. WHAT HAPPENS FIRST? Before you completed the STEP 2=Telephone Interview application, you were provided with the a temporary 6-digit Safety Review Confirmation Number and were informed that you would need to complete the safety review process if a Letter of Interest was sent to you after your telephone interview. The following paragraph was provided to you at that time: Although you may or may not have completed the safety review process with us yet, the 3rd question in the STEP 2=Telephone Interview application will ask for your 6-digit Safety Review Confirmation Number. You will eventually need to complete the safety review process should we send you a Letter of Interest after a telephone interview and should you choose to proceed. In the meantime, please use the following temporary 6-digit Safety Review Confirmation Number listed immediately below when answering the 3rd question in the STEP 2=Telephone Interview application. The Safety Review Confirmation Number shown below if valid for a period of 14 calendars days from today’s date. Any use of the Safety Review Confirmation Number shown below after that period has expired is prohibited and will result in your name being permanently removed from consideration. An attachment in PDF format has been included with this e-mail. If you do not see an attachment or can not open it, please contact us by reply e-mail immediately and wait for further instructions. Before proceeding with any of the instructions listed below, please follow the instructions in the attachment to obtain a Safety Review Confirmation Number that does not begin with the letters “RJ” which you will need in order to confirm this Letter of Interest and complete the rest of the recruitment process outlined in the Conditional Job Offer. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? At this point, we would expect that you have many questions. Once we receive your e-mail confirming that you have received this Letter of Interest in the manner we have requested and have accepted all of the terms, we will reply by e-mail with an Employer Preference Survey which lists one or more profiles of employers for you to choose from. Once we receive your employer preference, we will reply by e-mail with a Conditional Job Offer on behalf of an employer. The Conditional Job Offer that will be sent is approximately 20 printed pages long and includes answers to virtually every question that we have ever been asked by anyone we have ever recruited. Therefore, we request that you hold any questions or requests you may have until after you have read the Conditional Job Offer entirely. After you have read the Conditional Job Offer, we will be more than happy to reply to any questions you may have, in as much detail as you need, in order for you to make an informed decision. If you then decide you would like Blue Sky Recruiting to act as your employment agency, all of the instructions you will need to follow will be included. The Conditional Job Offer will explain exactly how you are going to communicate directly with your recruiter by e-mail, and through the internet, to make all of the necessary arrangements to attend a pre-employment orientation at an employer’s office on a specific date and time. You must be prepared to start working immediately after your pre-employment orientation at the employer’s office has concluded. If you would prefer to work primarily in a particular geographic area, and have a valid reason (e.g. you live in the area, relatives are there, etc.), you will still need to go to an employer’s office at least once for your pre-employment orientation. If the employer’s situation permits, you may be offered the opportunity to work in the geographic area that is most convenient for you after your pre-employment orientation has been completed. However, no employer is bound by this informal arrangement as they all require all of their employees to be flexible on location of work. When making dates for pre-employment orientation available to you, we will provide options that offer at least 14 days from the date this Letter of Interest has been sent to you to the scheduled pre-employment orientation date. Please confirm by e-mail that you have received this Letter of Interest and that you accept all of the positions that we are prepared to recommend you for. When you reply, please list your first and last name, as well as the date and start time of your scheduled interview, the capitalized words “LETTER OF INTEREST ACCEPTED”, and your 6-digit Safety Review Confirmation Number in the subject line. For example: John Smith, October 10, 2011, 8:45 AM MT, LETTER OF INTEREST ACCEPTED, 150114. Any 6-digit Safety Review Confirmation Number beginning with the letters “RJ” will not be accepted. Your name in the subject line must appear exactly how it appeared in your account at the time of your telephone interview. Always quote your interview time in Mountain Time and not your local time if it is different. Your Employer Preference Survey may be delayed if you misspell the words in the phrase “LETTER OF INTEREST ACCEPTED” or do not include them at all, and may not be processed at all if you do not include the correct date and start time of your scheduled interview in the subject line. If you are unsure of the correct date and start time that your telephone interview was originally scheduled to start, please log into your account and check your past appointments by clicking the MY APPOINTMENTS tab, then clicking on the HISTORY button, and finally clicking on the INSPECT button. Please note that you should be quoting the time your interview was scheduled to start and not when it actually started which is often a bit later. Also, you should include this identifying information in the subject line of every e-mail communication with Blue Sky Recruiting from now on. EMPLOYER PREFERENCE SURVEY We have included some information for you from the Employer Preference Survey beforehand. When you receive your Employer Preference Survey, you will be offered an opportunity to choose an employer with the remuneration shown below. The actual Employer Preference Survey contains additional information not shown. Please note that we can provide any further information, clarification or comment regarding the information shown below at this time. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions you would like to after you have received both the Employer Preference Survey and Conditional Job Offer. Pre-Employment Orientation Dates (8:00 am – approximately 5:00 pm): Every Monday from now until February 23rd, 2015. Orientations include a catered lunch. These dates are subject to any restrictions that may be listed in your Letter of Interest that you have already been sent and/or the Conditional Job Offer the will follow your accepted confirmation of this Employer Preference Survey and/or any additional restrictions communicated by us to your e-mail address. Usual Work Rotation: 3 weeks in, 1 week out. Vacation Pay: 4% added to each cheque. Pay Rate Type: Hourly for all positions. There is a set number of hours per day with overtime calculated on a weekly basis (Sunday to Saturday) and is based 1.5x hourly rate for hours greater than 44 per week in Alberta. All pay rates shown are gross figures and taxes etc. will be deducted accordingly. Because everyone’s individual situation is unique, we are unable to calculate what your "take home" pay will be in advance of you actually working. As is a very common practice with the remote camp industry, you will be required to sign a contract each time you are sent to camp to work. The wages listed below are entry level and higher wages may apply dependent upon experience determined solely by the employer after pre-employment orientation has been completed at the employer’s office. Weekly Pay Examples: This employer does not pay a weekly salary for any of the job titles listed below. Actual pay is only calculated by the number of hours worked (as agreed to by a contract) in a calendar week (Sunday through Saturday) multiplied by the hourly pay rate. The weekly amount shown is a calculation example only and is based on an ideal situation where the maximum number of hours was worked for all seven days of a calendar week. Although this weekly dollar calculation is accurate based on all of those assumptions, the employer does not discuss payroll inquiries in terms of weekly amounts and only discusses them in terms of hours per day and week, as well as the hourly pay rate. Furthermore, weekly pay would be significantly less if the start day for a work rotation was not a Sunday. Typical rotation start days are often Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Depending on what days of the week your rotation begins and ends, the amount of overtime hours will vary. For example, if someone was on a 21 day work rotation for 10 hours per day that started on a Wednesday and they worked all of those hours, the number of hours they would be paid for each calendar week would be Week 1: 33 (3+10+10+10=33), Week 2: 70 (10+10+10+10+10+10+10=70), Week 3: 70 (10+10+10+10+10+10+10=70), Week 4: 40 (10+10+10+10=40). Overtime (time and one half for hours over 44 in a calendar week) plus 4% vacation pay would be added as applicable. 2nd Cook: $1294.80/ Weekly for 70 hours per week (equals $15.00/hr for 10 hours per day + 4% vacation pay) Pay When Travelling To And From Camp: 3-hours pay on first day in camp and full hours pay on last day at camp. OR First Date Recruits Can Arrive: Every Monday from now until February 23rd, 2015. For example, if someone was on a 21 day work rotation that started on a Wednesday and they worked all of those days, the number of days they would be paid for each calendar week would be Week 1: 3.5 (.5+1+1+1=4.5), Week 2: 7 (1+1+1+1+1+1+1=7), Week 3: 7 (1+1+1+1+1+1+1=7), Week 4: 3.5 (1+1+1+.5=3.5). 4% vacation pay would be added as applicable. 2nd Cook: $1521.67/ weekly for 84 hours per week (equals $209.02 per day for 7 days at 12 hours per day plus 4% vacation pay) Premium for Journeyman Cook or Baker Certificate: With a Canadian provincial or territorial Journeyman Cook or Baker certificate, an employee receives an additional $14.00 per day. With a Canadian Inter-provincial Red Seal Cook or Baker certificate, an employee receives an additional $35.00 per day. 4% vacation pay will be added to either of these amounts as applicable. The employee must provide a copy of this certificate in order to be eligible for this premium. Premium for Length of Service: Once an employee has reached 1000 hours (approximately 4-months of full-time employment), they will receive an additional $0.48/hour, 3000 hours - $0.72/hour, 6000 hours - $0.47/hour, 9,000 - $.71/hour, and 12000 hours – $1.29/hour. These increases are cumulative. For example, an employee who meets all requirements and works 12000 hours, would receive an additional $3.67/hour ($0.48 + $0.72 + $0.47 + $0.71 + $1.29). If the employee leaves or does not work for 3 months or greater, their accumulated hours start back at zero. 4% vacation pay will be added to these amounts as applicable. Pay When Travelling To And From Camp: Half day pay on first day in camp and half day pay on last day in camp. REQUIRED RESPONSE TIME You have 14 calendar days from the date this Letter of Interest e-mail was sent in which to respond and confirm that you have received and accepted this Letter of Interest without any conditions (as previously explained), and would like receive the Employer Preference Survey, which is the next step in the process. If we receive your Letter of Interest confirmation by e-mail after more than 14 calendar days have passed, you will have to apply for another interview (which may not necessarily be approved) and start the recruiting process over again. Please note that you will not be given additional time beyond the 14 calendar days in which to complete the Employer Preference Survey and the Letter of Interest and both must be successfully completed within 14 calendar days from the date this Letter of Interest e-mail was sent to you. IMPORTANT: To reduce potential misunderstandings occurring due to this message being truncated during transmission, please inform us immediately if you do not see this identical message at both the top and bottom of the text that we have sent you.
